Well, since I'm waiting for my PE harnesses for my RX-7 build I jumped back on my custom Mustang this morning. Working on the fine details of getting the chassis and suspension to fit just right.  I'll update with a pic or two once something photo-worthy is reached.

I've made a bit of progress on the chassis on my Mustang this week. Nothing major, but since the project has been stalled for years most of my parts are MIA. I am scrounging or scratch building most of the parts that I need. That slows the process considerably. Anywho, hear is where it is at.

The yellow inner fenders are from a 93-94 kit that I had some parts from. I think I have some from a 97 Cobra kit at the house. I'll check tonight and, if so, I may replace these. Either way, they need some modifications because they sit too high at the moment.

Still flogging away, here. Hope to complete the cockpit over the weekend. I have the harness installed. I also got the "puke tank" painted. I have an old brass model railroad casting of a draincock that I will be installing in that. Once the cockpit is done, I can move on to installing the body. I have also begun work on another (third? fourth?) manifold. I've figured out a couple of things, regarding it, that made me realize just what an idiot I can be, sometimes!

Update on my Mono '66 Chevelle. I believe I've finally fixed that ugly gap on the left front fender. Have now rescribed all the door lines, and you can see where I've added the scribe lines for the rear fender caps and the rocker panels. I also got the roof about as straight as I think I can go. I could have raised it a little more without much trouble, BUT then I'd have had a gap with the windshield--it looks like the glass was made to work with a certain amount of incorrect dip in the roof. Oh well.

It SHOULD be all downhill from here, but I've thought that many times before, and always been wrong....:unsure:

I’ve always liked this kit from when I was a kid. I had one or two back then.  I don’t know what happened to them, but I recently acquired another one.

Liquid cement and CA glues work just fine for styrene. Don't forget that most thin For Sale signs are just thin styrene and work just fine but are usually cheaper.

Got another project in mind, but I need you guys' blessing for it. 

Back around 1966 or '67, I got an AMT '65 Riviera. I don't think it was the annual, I think it was the first reissue with the Villa Riviera on the box. The details are hazy, but I think I might have assembled it for awhile with the body in unpainted white plastic and the interior brush-painted with Pactra Leaf Green (that much I remember). In December 1968 we had a fire in our basement which destroyed my model workbench/shop area and apparently the Riv body and hood were down there at the time, being painted or something, because they disappeared. Everything else from the model must have been upstairs in my bedroom for some reason, because I still have the other parts to this day--front and rear bumpers, grille, engine, chassis, and glass (no wheels, though--I looked). Here's the 50+ year old Survivor parts:

Last month at the local toy show, I spotted a complete '65 Riv body painted Dayglo Green (only damage, one vent window post missing) for just a dollar or two. When I remembered I had everything (but the hood) necessary to complete it, I couldn't buy it fast enough! So now I have a complete project (almost) on hand. Here it is, after a dip in the Purple Pond, set together:

My question is, does this qualify as a BOYD Completion build?  It's not really something I was working on and set aside. On the other hand, it kind of is, as I must have been working on the body when it got burned up in 1968 and "set it aside" then. :unsure:

What do y'all say? Does it belong here? I'm going to build it either way but want to make sure no one here thinks it's cheating. Here's the deal: If anyone on the current registered Round 3 Build list objects, I'll consider that a blackball and not include it here. If there are no objections, I'll drive on with it as a BOYD completion project and GITTER DONE!  (Anyone have a '65 Riviera hood?)

Here is one I started on about 20 years ago,I started taking junk truck bodies and trying to make larger trucks out of them. I originally had built a dump bed for it but did not look right and then started to make a tow truck bed but ended up as a road tractor. Finally found head lights for it today and ordered some more correct rims and tires.

I did some digging and found another 34 cab that I should have used for that build,that one was probably a real nice cab and the one I found would have been better to use since it had many layers of paint.  I am gathering parts to make a very nice 34 big truck and will have to soak the new find cab many tines to get all the paint off of it.

Snake, I say go for it! Your story that the body was in the basement being painted sounds reasonable to me. I know I have had kits with parts at home and parts at work 30 miles away.

Wish I had a spare 65 hood for you. I am looking for the more elusive 63 Rivi rear bumper.

I've been sitting on a very restorable glue bomb '63 Riv for about 20 years now, missing only its rear bumper. Fortunately I ordered one from Modelhaus before they went OOB, and it's waiting patiently in my "last Care package" from them. Now I wish I'd ordered two. :(

Yeah, me too. Mine I got about 3 years ago and was only missing the rear bumper and one stock wheel/tire. It will be an easy restoration, if I can find the bumper. I'm also looking for the glass and the hood scoop chrome for a 61-63 T-Bird hardtop, if you know of someone who may have those parts.

On another note, I wanted to work on my Mustang this weekend but it just wasn't going to happen. Been so busy this weekend that I can't wait for Monday to get back to work and get a break!
