The platform and joint shifter are removable. I did this mainly for transporting back-and-forth to shows what club nights. I’ll post pictures of the construction soon. But everything about the shifter a scratch built.

Great work Dominick!

I was wondering about the roof graphic on the convertible top, but the last photo explains it all!

Cool replica!

The marker lights have been done, and still have the side mirrors been installed. A couple of the things of that picture was taken. I also corrected the spelling on the shifter! 😝👍

Quick update on the digger: For some reason, after I installed the steering box/shaft assembly, the body decided it didn't want to fit like it had, up to that point. I couldn't find anything that was interfering with it, so, I kept moving it forward and backward, until I found the sweet spot. I hope it's easier, when I am ready to permanently mount the body. I got the seat covered with kitchen parchment and got a coat of paint on it (no photos, yet, but, I may get it installed, later on tonight). I also did a bit more hammering on the windscreen. It, and the cowl fit so nicely together, that, in these photos, only pressure is holding the cowl down, and the only thing holding the windscreen, is the pressure the brake handle/know is applying against it, and the cowl! That works! A couple of shots of the progress...

I had a fairly productive day today. This was the first time in about 10 days that I actually worked on anything, my family's been sick all week, just now gettin over it.

I have a list of things to do before final assembly,

Polish,

BMF,

Fab exhaust,

Build complete interior,

Finish Revell chassis,

We'll see if I can finish by the weekend. I'm gonna be out of town next week a few days so it will be a challange to get it done by the deadline. I'll get back to it as soon as I can.

Here are a couple oldies. The 29 Model A is the last serious project I was working on before I stopped building for 6 years. The Demon is around the same time frame. Both need to be finished sometime. Not going to even try for the deadline. But these are going to be on the bench coming up sometime soon.

Thank you. I've alot of time in that one. It has real wood bed floor, bed sides, dash, and door panels. Scratch built gauges, seat, intake, carb trumpets, linkage, and headers. Chopped top, and suicide doors.

Here's a not only dead but long buried but it's not a car...sorry. Going through a storage space recently I came on a Hasegawa Lockheed Neptune box that I had long forgotten. Since I've recently been on a bit of a program to finish some dormant kits I decided to take a serious look at this one. Written inside the lid was....fuselage glued  1983....maybe it's time to see if it can be finished.

I have regrettably come to the conclusion that my dragster isn't going to make it, before the deadline. I am glad that I threw in, because it kept me pushing, sometimes, even when I maybe should have stepped away, for a day or three--but, I have been, and continue to be inspired. Thus, work will continue until this baby is completed. So, I'm in for round three, should that happen! I didn't have any aluminum wire of the correct size for the main fuel line, so, I ordered two small rolls, on Monday, of .052" (16 ga.) and .040" (18 ga.). Those arrived, today. I opted for the .052". I got it bent and fitted. It's not installed, yet, because I need to make the fittings. I also soldered up the three-way shutoff valve. I need to strip the "cable" for the shutoff and paint the valve, then I can put all of that together. Then I will get back to the cockpit and rollcage. I'm disappointed I can't finish, but, I am happy with the model, and that's more important!

Making last minute progress on the 55. I had to show the interior, I'm kinda happy with the outcome.  I used a console from a 60 Impala. I couldn't find the shifter so I used welding wire from my mig welder, the shift ball is actually weld flux!

Anyway I'm counting down with you guys, Finished pics to come soon.

Fabulous! I think you're #6 of this round! GOTTER DONE! B)

Straightliner, we will withdraw you with honor. Don't want you to screw something up or produce substandard work just to GITTER DONE; I consider it a success that this thread has inspired you to make great progress on your model. Maybe you can GITTER DONE for Round 3, if we have one. B)

YOU GO, Disconovaman! GITTER DONE! B)
