IMSA GTO Mustang

I bought this kit a long time ago. A recent model contest had Road Racing Cars as a theme and I figured I would finally build it. I opened the box and realized I actually started it then remembered why I did not continue, no instructions. A quick look on E-Bay and I got instructions for 99 cents and the build commenced. I was very worried the decals would be brittle, after all they are about 20 years old. As it turned out they were not brittle but many of them did not lay flat along the curves of the body, even with solvent,  It was OK since I didn't get it done for the contest.  Even though the decals did not lay perfectly flat I went ahead an cleared it and finished up the build. I must say the kit itself is a very nice kit to put together and really enjoyed the build.

Exterior - Paint is Fords version of Folgers Red -Strawberry.   Interior - Gull Gray

Agree on the color being correct - good choice.   Not sure what I was thinking when I built mine but it was 25 years ago.  No idea how I got the decals to lay flat - my guess it a wet towel pressing down on them on piece at a time.  Here is the view from the inside.
