oldcarfan
My grandma bought a new 1971 after my grandpa died and drove it for several years with no trouble. She then traded it for a new Cordoba and later a Volare. She seemed to have a thing for malaise!
chris chabre
I love EARLY 70s mavericks and Comets..The 5mph bumpers wreck the look from 74 on haha. My father bought one new in 73 during his senior year of high school. VERY shortly after he took delivery, he put the 4 speed and 9inch out of his friends totaled Mach 1, put a cam in it, and did a few other things. Car ran in the 12s and he daily drove it until 76 when he bought his "highboy" pick up. The Comet was then given to my mom to drive daily to school. He ran cragars on it usually, changing it up to painted steelies and dog dish caps here and there.... it ended up with endless lined panels for a bit as well. It was cinnamon brown with brown interior. He still has it but its waiting its turn for restoration. He also has a 71 Maverick were collecting the parts to build a early prostock tribute car out of...
