cheyenne93
Its bean quite a while since my last posting. Spending a lot of time with my one and only grandson. (Spoilage)! So got this at an estate sale was missing the bed and a few other parts. So I thought lets try something outside the box, LOL. Scratch build a dump truck. The cab is the dodge little red express. The dump box I scratch built. Lengthened the frame. Added 4x4. Wheels are B&L resin. Gona mount the snow plow from chevy kit on it. Thinking about maybe trying to build a salt spreader for it also. Would like to find a cummings 6 for it if anyone has any idea where I could get one. Thanks for looking

Havamodeler
I found this on another thread around here somewhere. I haven't bought any from them yet, but the parts look pretty good in the pics https://trailertrashkustomz.bigcartel.com/product/5-9-cummins-engine-kit
Rusty92
I think the Cummins from Trailer Trash Kustoms is nice but Jamie at Moluminum has the nicest 5.9 Cummins I have ever seen. Prices are similar too with Jamie's being a few dollars more. Took this photo from their FB group. Here is the link to Jamies 5.9 http://moluminum-com.3dcartstores.com/Small-Cummins-2-exhaust-manifold-and-alternater-options_p_158.html Edited January 31, 2019 by Rusty92
DRIPTROIT 71
I like it!! The Cummins will be a nice touch! Jamie also has the 4BT Cummins as well.

mikemodeler
Very nice scratch building on that dump bed. Should be a nice truck when done! On a side note, Danny at Scenes Unlimited is finalizing a design on a similar dump bed for those of us that do not have your skills.
cheyenne93
So I decided if this thing is meant to plow snow, better have a bit more aggressive tires. 16'' mud & snow, from scenes unlimited. front lockers are scratch built. Got the 5.9 cummins from trailertrash yesterday, looking at a lot of reference pics on google.
mikemodeler
Nice choice on the tires, Danny has some really nice stuff ( and a bunch of my lunch money! LOL)
cheyenne93
So I got the cummins about finished. Now gotta make it fit. Lots of trimming and sanding on the engine, but it looks pretty good I think.
misterNNL
Thanks for posting the detailed engine. I bought a 5.9 Cummins resin kit a while back that had no instructions so this will very useful.
cheyenne93
Still workin on the dump truck. Scratching my head, trying to figure out what I could use to make a caution light for it. The wife calls out for some help putting the dogs flea collar on. '' Bingo'' an idea not the dog. The little clear snap on reflectors that come with the Seresto collars. (small dog). They are hollow so I cut the bottom off, painted the inside amber and made a base out of styrene. Thought I would share.

cheyenne93
Making a little more progress on the dumper. Got the chase painted and the cummins in. Scratch building shocks, and have to build a cross member for the transfer case. I also opted out for a standard trans. didn't like the auto. trans. that comes with the cummins. cheyenne93
Got the shocks done. Had to scratch build the drive shafts, using styrene tubing and ends from parts box drive shafts. Next is plumbin the engine.
mikemodeler
Looking good! I like the scratchbuilt light, wish there were more modern lights like that available without having to steal them from expensive kits.
cheyenne93
Heater tubes and hoses installed and goose neck and top radiator hose. Tubes and goose neck are scratch built styrene rod.
