THarrison351
I saw this at Hobby Lobby and snagged it yesterday. I kind of wish I had looked a little closer. Wheels are too small and have caps on them. The bumpers are painted silver and not chromed. Taillights are wrong. Markings aren't even close. It seems to be closer to 1/22 scale as well except the license plates, they're closer to 1/32 scale. Gramps46
Went to Walmart this morning looking for a jigsaw puzzle which my wife and I have found as a way to relieve some of the tension. The puzzle section was totally bare. So naturally I checked out the diecasts and found this M2 Castline 1969 Camaro SS which caught my eye. Not sure why exactly other than the dark green color and the dog dish hubcaps. One thing which I did notice is that the seats are very close to the dash so I checked the M2 Z28 and it is the same way. - just did a closer look and the air cleaner says 427, the front fenders say 396, and the exhaust manifolds indicate a small block. Oh well. Edited May 6, 2020 by Gramps46
kilrathy10
I see these Camaros at Walmart almost every day, and I haven't been able to pull the trigger on them, yet; and I couldn't put my finger on it as to why... I think you've just pointed out what my brain couldn't process about what turned me off about it.... Just didn't look right... Snake45
Oh my, if my Walmart has those tomorrow, I will HAVE to have one! The color looks like a fair representation of Fathom Green. I already have two other M2 '69 Camaros, a Hugger Orange with black stripes and a black Rally Sport. I like them both. I also have a CMW diecast 1/25 '69 Camaro in Fathom Green, which I also like a lot. I also have a Revell '69 Camaro body painted Fathom Green, which I need to build into a completed model someday. The plan is to do it as a COPO 9561 L72 427.
kilrathy10
I need to check around town to see if they have any of these... I would like to see for myself... Amazing how you just can't tell by looking at pictures the size of what you're looking at...

It seems to me the diecast selections between the 2 are totally different in both size and selection. I have no experience in merchandizing so I do not understand why that would be unless shipments are based upon previous sales. For instance, if one sells a lot of M2 diecasts they will continue to receive M2 stocks while the other will not and the distributor will search for some other item that will sell more frequently. I am assuming that someone (or computer) outside the store and not clerks on the floor are making the decisions on what ships and what does not. Gramps46
I was sent back to Walmart again by SWMBO so picked up the M2 1966 Hertz Shelby GT350H. Pretty typical M2 but the front door gap seems excessive. The toothpick is not included.
randyc
Both of these look nice to me. And reasonably priced as well. Great scores!
cobraman
Good looking Mustang. I would have to agree on the door gaps.

One of the three M2 Mustangs I have is a dark green '66 GT350, with Paxton supercharger. I like it a lot.

THarrison351
It's Release 75 and it's 1/24. Supposed to be an SS396, but the engine is a small block and according to the OP it has a 427 decal on it. Rodent
I have recently fallen down a rabbit hole watching Highway Patrol on YouTube. I knew of this not awful diecast, so I ordered one. It's going to get some detail love, but I don't know how soon. Already peeped the threads on here about detailing it, and I am still trying to figure out how to mask the hubcaps and paint the rest of the wheel black. Needs an antenna, but will probably attach the tip to the drip rail so the car will fit in a case.

Coat the hubcaps with Vaseline and then spray the wheels, the Vaseline will wipe right off the hubcaps. cobraman
I think she got the 40 per cent off on it but still nice of her especially knowing how many Cobra"s there are around here .
Gramps46
Ok I see it is a Welly but what scale is it? You call it a little Cobra. I see the doors open but the hood does not look like it opens so it can't be a 1/24 but that price is pretty good.
cobraman
It’s 1/32 scale . She gets so excited when she finds one I never tell her I already have it .
