Your.truck looks very rebuild able, Tim

Yeah, that one and my 1953 Ford that I just pulled out of storage will both get put back together soon. You should have seen them before they went into storage. They were both dropped off a shelf about twenty years ago and then were placed on top of a china cabinet near an HVAC return. It's amazing how much dust settles on things near HVAC returns. Needless to say they still need a good cleaning and repair. Once I finish opening all these boxes. Repairing will be next.

Greetings,

Requiring some scrubbing and cleaning to look reasoned, this is a 1:20th scale Revell Creative Masters '65 Shelby GT350 that was picked up for $39.95 via eBay and having arrived in my hands the day this was posted.  Both wipers were intact, the delicate radio antenna never installed and present within a bag, beat up but complete original packaging, etc.

Odd scale, some paint rash along the flanks, but still one of the more honest representations of a topic that is often done poorly.  Crammed inside  a new low-rent 1:25th scale AMT plastic display case, it just fits complete with the aforementioned radio antenna insert.  I might add the sidewall Goodyear Blue Dots to add some discreet visual interest, but in the main I'm happy with the model looking nice in proximity to a 1:25th Wix Cobra 427 S/C purchased some time ago.  No great desire for their Cobra or Ford GT Gulf Mirage releases at present - I'm pleased with this low cost option just as-is.  Thanks...

Thanks for the kind comments and interest...

About as modest as upgrades come, here I've added Goodyear Power Cushion Blue Dot sidewall 'dots' with paint applied for careful use of a length of small diameter plastic rod.  The two-ply nylon tires were a feature of some Shelby American products of the period, as well as early Formula S Barracudas.  Look close and one can make out the fire bottle installation fitted atop the fiberglass fill panel fitted in lieu of a rear seat.

Thanks again...

I took a little stroll down the diecast aisle at Walmart today. Not much there, but I did find some Hot Wheels Mystery Models. The '55 Chevy is the "chase car" of the current MM series. And I collect Hot Wheels Bone Shakers, so of course I had to add one to the collection.

Nice set.  Hard to not like the bone shaker.  And I have a version of hte 55 Chevy on my desk right under my monitor. The matter black with white/green flames.   It responds well to some basic detailing.

These just came in the mail from a fellow board member.  The Crown Premiums 1937 Studebaker Woody Panel Wagon is super with the accessories.  I have not been able to find a picture of this particular issue anywhere on line.  The yellow Franklin Mint 1986 Corvette will be a new addition to my C4 Corvettes.  The  orange Franklin Mint 1969 Corvette is pretty amazing in its detail.

  • 2 weeks later...

Randy, the Chevy has two booms and they both work with individual cranks.  The cables are elastic which is a bit odd but workable.  The model is available in several graphic versions and either dark blue or white, maybe red?

Got this die cast kit a couple days ago . Seller claimed it was new . It was not !  Lots of pieces were/are loose , some assembly was done . I opted to keep it anyway because I wanted this kit and no others were on the bay at the time . Will build pretty much stock out of the box but I will paint the interior as I don’t care for the color it is molded in .

Love that one!   I have never seen that version.  I have the blue flamed roadster.  Be sure to post it up while building or at least when done.  I get the reason behind the tan interior but can understand why you;d change it too.
