AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird

Recommended Posts

Just finished this AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Painted in Tamiya Italian Red. As the Beach Boys said "And She'll Have Fun Fun Fun Til Her Daddy Takes the T-bird Away".

Very excellent T-Bird.  Your patience and building skills are evident by turning this somewhat sow's ear of a kit into a very fine silk purse.  Gives me some incentive to dig mine out of the stash.

Dang it, everybody has already used all the adjectives that came to my mind when it saw the build.   Thanks for sharing, it is an inspiration.

Great build in an iconic color scheme! I have a question regarding the AMT early Thunderbird kits; they always have looked to my eye as tho they were produced in about 1/22nd scale or so. Those kits always look too big when sitting next to another built 1/25th kit of just about any other car. Does anyone think the sizing might be a bit off?

'70 Grande . The wheel track is the same as the contemporary Fairlanes . To me , the model is spot on . I eyeball .. so I know I'm not perfect . What a respectable replica . I build Factory Stock and I am impressed . The optional Kelsey Hays Wire Wheels just makes this the icing on a cake . Check :) Thanx ..

Looks great, and this kit is not easy to build to this level of finish. I just noticed that they include a '55 year model roof instead of the '56 and '57 porthole roof.
