Flat32
I am intrigued by the injection molded kits in general and especially how the molds were made. More specifically the mold cavities machining that was done with 3D pantograph die sinking machines. I have one of these machines and would like to find any of the toolmakers that actually ran or run them making kit molds. I know it's a long shot since CNC and EDM have pretty much taken over in mold building, but I feel like the old school methods are worthy of documentation for historical purposes if nothing else. I have a few questions I'd like to ask that only one of these old time toolmakers could answer. Do any of you oldtimers know any oldtime moldmakers?? Flat32
Science channel just ran a short episode on how plastic model kits are made. Heller is the manufacturer featured.
