Scratch built 32 ford

Recommended Posts

This is a scratch built 32 ford. It was my first build 9 years ago. A friend had a bunch of parts. This is what I used to make this. The cage section came from a funny car. I do not know what 32 body it is. The wheels came from a thunderbolt glue bomb.  The Hemi was not all there. Blower was scratch built. Grill was scratch built. Headers were scratch built. All the little goodies were scratch built. The car is not the best. At this time it was a build I was doing for therapy for fine motor skills for my doctor.I had a stroke , and had to show him the model. This started me into the car modeling.

P.S. I did build models as a kid . Stopped building when I was 15 or so. You know the story, girls,  real cars and a job. I’m 63 now.

Looks great! Body is an AMT 5 window. I like everything about your build.

Looks like the therapy was a success. I haven't had a stroke and I still don't build THAT good!!!

Thank you oldcarfan27. It took along time to build it. My left side of my body was paralyzed. Took 6 months to get back in shape. Still feels strange but have to live with it.

WOW. Incredible build. At first I thought it might be large scale with the high level of detail and fidelity. Build on.

Nice one, Bruce!

A great looking model!

Nice scratch building skills you have there. Plenty of attitude. And it sits right, too.

Looking forward to seeing more from you 👍

You and your doctor should be very proud of what you accomplished with this build.  Your building skills are really shown off with the attention to detail on the car.  Great job!  Model on!

Looks like a tremendous build. Great job especially if it was built from nothing but scrap.

How can I get a stroke, I'd like to build like this...
All poor-taste jokes aside, WOW this model is awesome. It has tons of character, engaging detail, strong use of color contrast, effective use of decals (I like the Coa-cola sticker on the seat, and the labelled MSD box in particular). I also initially thought this was a larger-scale model, but I recognize that AMT '32 body!  It reminds me of photos of 1960s competition models, maybe not 100% in-scale, but makes up for it in sheer exuberance. Definitely a model to be proud of! It deserves a display case or something to keep the dust off :) Saved to my inspiration folder...
