Detroit D.A.A.M. show and contest on March 31,2019

Recommended Posts

The Detroit Area Auto Modelers presents the Motor City Madness judged contest and toy show on March 31st, 2019 at the Macomb County College Sports & Expo Center in Warren, Michigan. The toy show tables are sold out already. We cut the number of tables down by 6 so as to make access to the model contest a little bit better ( there will still be over 315 tables of goodies). Admission to the event is still $5.00 and there's NO extra charge to enter models into the contest. We're the biggest show in the Midwest- come and see why it's been impressing attendees and participants.

The Fall show ( Motor City NNL #15) is November 10, 2019. Main theme : To the 9s-models of vehicles built in years ending in "9". Sub theme; "Kings of the road"- Big rigs and other heavy duty on road trucks. Cult theme- 50 years of IMSA.

After having attended the fall show for the first time last year I wonder if there is anyway to increase the number of display tables available. Common sense would say that with big rigs as one of your themes the table space will quickly be occupied. Last year every square inch was gone quickly. This is not a criticism in any way but simply a concerned cautionary note wanting your success to continue.

I have been going to this show for the last 4 years and "it don't get any better that this" is all I can say. I go for NASCAR die casts and I always get a bunch of good stuff there.

There has been a vendor who, for past shows, had wanted his tables on the back wall in the contest area. Now he wants his area moved so we are going to expand the contest area and use his former space as more contest table area ( right now we're thinking that's where the dioramas will be displayed but that may change) .

As a late announced bonus we are scheduled to have a former AMT wood pattern department employee bring some of his items that he saved from his days there.
