89AKurt
A subject I would like to build, but come on, not a cartoon! They have some interesting subjects, too bad they are not realistic. If I'm going to spend precious time, it's gonna be accurate. Hobby Search is the source.
cobraman
I see a lot of these on the Bay. There is a Cobra I would like to get but at 99.00 I just won't.
TooOld
The Cobra is 3,800 Yen on Hobby Search = $33.97 + shipping . I'm guessing these things are tiny ?
Dann Tier
I think they're pretty cool!!….not worth $99 though. I think its Bandai that makes a "realistic" 1/24 Lamborghini Cheetah......but you're gonna pay for it -average is around $440!
Deathgoblin
I love the ChoroQ/Penny Racers style. Used to have a huge collection of them.

If I'm not mistaken, Tamiya cut one of these as well. Probably in the 'electric motor model' days. Edited March 6, 2019 by Bainford
Phirewriter
Tamiya did make a Cheetah, however it was a 1:10 R/C kit (no 1:24 version) They are very expensive if they're mint unbuilt, usually in the four figure range.
89AKurt
The 1/24 scale kit, think it was Otaki (could be Bandai) was one of those shoulda coulda woulda but back then I had no money. I know about the Tamiya r/c, money pit.

I've found over the years (and not just for Tamiya anymore) buy it now if you can, it will generally never be cheaper. But then I guess that applies to numerous hobbies these days. ChrisR
Otaki did the 1/24 motorized version. I am busy restoring the Safari version at the moment.
iamsuperdan
So how rare are these kits? Woudl be cool to find one. I would love it if someone would build a kit of the Cheetah's successor.

I've seen a diecast model of it, but it costs a mint too.
oldcarfan
I would love to see a 1/24th Cheetah and also a 1/24th LM002. There used to be a diecast toy one that was accurate and the right scale that I converted into a nice LM002 but I lost it somewhere along the line and haven't found another one. Tyres could be used from the military section, I think. They would have to make a full kit out of it, you cannot hide the Countach V12 inside of the LM002, can you? I just got the kit, without the instructions. Think I can build 95% of it without, but would be nice to get a copy.

keyser
I’ll dig around Kurt. I have the safari and the police versions. ? Probably have a set of instructions somewhere. Bought them new so may take awhile. I was going to convert one to LMA002 but, well, no. It’s really square so might be easier to scratch it or at least body. Glad I’m not only one that likes these. crossfire 2004
There is currently a Tamiya Cheetah kit on EBay here in England with a eye watering £900.00 price tag, that’s approx $1160.00 to you guys ! I guess that it will remain available for the foreseeable future. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-New-1978-Tamiya-Lamborghini-Cheetah-RC-Kit-58007-Sealed-Parts-NIB-1-12/174439117207?hash=item289d61b197:g:y6sAAOSwLcZeyYkx

So it still look likes it's stupid money, but I like the 89 for some reason. Funny that this is now my soul focus now, when I gather the parts will start a WIP topic, calling it Lambo HellCheetah (since the original had a Chysler V8, this will have the SRT Hellcat)
