I don't like the hood scoop or the blacked out grille, and the wheels and low profile tires don't do much for me. The stance is also a little too low. Kruzn Posted March 23, 2019 Share Posted March 23, 2019 My brother built this Johan model back in 1965. Glad I kept it all these years! I like the Fury with and without skirts. I really should foil the trim someday, but this is the way he built it except I changed the wheels somewhere along the way.... He was a volunteer fireman at the time, so it is supposed to be a Fire Chief's car. Notice the 2-way radio under the dash. There was an antenna on the rear deck, but it is long gone. I figured that I should take a little break before attempting to remove the next one. With this old, brittle plastic, it's a little unnerving cutting out body panels! In the meantime, I started investigating the wheel situation. I was originally planning on using a set from the Lindberg "Color Me Gone" Dodge kits, but they really lacked detail, including the fact that they are missing any lug nut detail. I had another set that was much more detailed, but a little too shallow for my taste, so I thought, why not combine them and make painting a lot easier. Now my question is, should I leave the rim chrome, or strip it and shoot them with some Alclad "Polished Aluminum"? What do you all think? Here's a wheel I was always partial to: I like the Torque Thrust, and the Cragar SS, but these Keystones look very nice on a classic MOPAR!!! Steve I just did a google search for both colors. And my best guess is the Corvette color is slightly to dark compared to the Mopar version. I think that I might be leaning towards the "Medium Turquoise" anyway. I think that I might have other plans for the copper. I have the 65 HT missing glass and bumpers....a 66 HT promo needing glass,bumpers,taillights,front roof posts,one wheel and tire and torsion bar suspension on the pass side. A method I have used to stabilize the plastic body involves a scrap piece of 2x4 clamped to a work bench and use that as a backing for the part of the body you're cutting on.
