Amusingly some people on a FB post from a major mail order place are complaining the box art is all wrong because it's not a big jacked up 4x4 like the '70 showed. I'm presuming those folks haven't actually opened their respective '70 kits to realize the F-250 Hi-Boy on the box art is NOT what comes in the kit.

The box art illustration for the '66 seems to sit so low as to be indistinguishable from the 2wd version.  Googling '66 Ford F100 4x4 turns up images of ones that sit higher, some modified certainly.

I wonder if it's just the angle of the illustration. Although the built model doesn't sit a whole lot higher.

The top  of box art is a dissapointment,  not only does it sit too low, the paint scheme and colors are extremely uncommon for this series of pickups. The art work is obviously  derived from another Ford  2wd ad from the day. The built model on side cover  has a higher stance and looks correct appears to have the same 15" wheels as previous kits. would have liked to see a 16" wheel option in this one.  Factory photo of a '66 F 100 4x4 for those who care. Glad Moebius didn't make the mistake of showing a '66 F 250 4x4 on the cover, because the frames and beds are completely different. But again, glad this kit is out there for us to build in whatever variation ( flareside , shortbed or utility ) if we choose, couple of years ago, we had nothing in this era.

That's because it is a 2wd; note that there's no drive axle under the front. Another pretty pic from moebius marketing almost relating to the contents ...

True, but all they have to do is look at the side pic of Mr Goldman's excellent build to see what it will look like, just like this current one. Could be they're trolling us with the incorrect box art; hard to believe a company in this era would be that out of touch  ^_^

Thankfully they refrained from including this unicorn from the prototype...
