As someone who was lucky to live in Milwaukee in the 80s, I met Gary at his Vliet street office then. As I had just moved from California and had endured a fire of my home where I lost everything, Gary gave me a whole collection of SAE from the first to the then current issue. I also got to draw the Model Behavior page in Car Modeler magazine. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear this news, Gary was a pleasant person who gave me the opportunity to publish articles in his magazine, He gave a voice to the fire modelers. Was always a pleasure to talk to at the Toy Collector's fair in Maumee Ohio. I was fortunate to be the first face on the 'other' magazine and he was always positive about the car model hobby, May he rest in peace.

God speed Gary. He was a a regular attendee at our annual NNL Nationals in Toledo for many years to the point of sticking around after the shows closed late at night while we planned our next show themes. I vividly remember talking to him at the start of NNL 10 and him asking me if this was " the swan song" for the NNL meaning our last national show. He did our common hobby and uncommon service by keeping us engaged at a time when interest was waining. He helped us all and will be missed.

I found this out in the new issue of Scale Auto and Gary and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. I never had a chance to meet Gary but reading his magazine  ( all issues over and over again ) it's as if I had known him for years. Rest in peace my friend.
