1938 Ford COE that isn't!

Saw this magazine and really liked the truck on the cover. I wasn't interested in doing a replica build of the truck, but used it as my inspiration.

Just happened to have a resin cast "Jimmy Flintstone" '41 Ford COE, but wasn't going to sacrifice the bed from the Revell '37 Ford Pick Up. I used the '38 grill from the kit though. I did have a few '50 Ford pick up beds in in my stash, so used one of these.

My buddy Steve loaned me a front-wheel drive transaxle from a kit and I made a mould of it for resin casting. Used the rear IRS from a Corvette donated by another buddy Raul.

One of the joys of a Jimmy Flintstone resin body is you have a lot of resin to play with! Using photos and the '38 grill I ground away on the '41 Ford COE until I was happy.

Headlights are from a '41 Willy', engine, exhaust, chassis, wheels and tires pulled out of my parts collection.
