VW Bug 1303S and the Gooseneck trailer

This Bug and Gooseneck trailer is spotted from a commercial film, shot 1974 I think.

Immediatly I knew I must try to scratch build that wonderful trailer and hook it on a Bugs roof. I had the Bug already built, but I took it in pieces, made the Bug's nose more bulky and it got new golden paint too.

The building story you can see in the Workbench section, but here are the new photos of this finished combo. I'm sorry the phone camera lense somehow twists the Bug's front end photo, it is not that weird in live. I should take one more photo where the Bug is in the middle of the lence. Maybe tomorrow, now it's late here in Finland.

Thank you very much everybody. This was a fun thing to build, only painting and clear coating the trailer body was quite tricky.

The Bug is a Aoshima kit, red painted Bug on the box cover. And also the body was red plastic. It says 1303S on the box, the windshield is curved but the front end was very flat and the headlights tilted backwards like in the earlier Bugs had. Battery box under the floor, turnable front tires.

Here is one more photo of the Bug. I have to admit the bumper isn't exactly straight positioned. But I like those extra lights, period correct, eh? Plastic covers to protect the glass.

I've sen the little film you mentioned. Thought it was a neat concept and great to see you bring it to life in model form. You did a great job in building the model and trailer.

totally agreed. well done!
