Not gonna lie, had one of these for my first car and Dad and I both still have a soft spot for it.

I had one of those in this color:

Brochure-1987-Chrysler-LeBaron-GTS.jpg

Light Rosewood metallic, with red interior. Turbo 2.2 with five speed.  Not a pavement ripper, but still a decent running little sedan/hatchback.

Mine was identical to the brochure car, but had red leather instead of what appears to be black leather in that pic.

I had one of those. Was my very first brand new car 1988 ( although not a shelby )  , just a 2.2 Turbo ES.

Did you know the '87 Shelby Lancers were supposed to be a very Elenore-esk gunmetal grey with black graphics.

1987-dodge-shelby-lancer_2226.jpg

Apparently somebody at Chrysler screwed up the order and sent Shelby's operation 800 Red Lancers instead of 800 Grey.

Thought it would be interesting to do an Elenor like build of an '88 Lancer Shelby (those were built buy Chrysler instead.), maybe with one of the SRT Motors instead of a variation of the 2.2/2.5 motors.

I'm a first generation guy. So much of the design of this car speaks to me. This particular beauty is a 1966 hemi car.

Nuthin' wrong with that. I love Neons. The 2-liter cars are a little buzzy (easily fixed with engine bay insulation) but they handle better than any other cheap car I've ever driven. The ride quality is also remarkably refined for a small inexpensive car. I actually prefer the Neon to all of the late-model rentals I've driven lately. And the 2.4 liter DOHC turbos are pocket rockets.

They're all kinda a PITA to work on due to the design and location of the timing belt system, but they're no worse than many other cars, and because they were generally thought of as disposable vehicles and poorly maintained, junkyards are full of parts for cheap.

'72 Satellite, Roadrunner. Preferring the '72 taillights over the '71s.

Not a big fan of 'em overall, but I do like the '74 Do ge Monaco. It's got a lot of pickup.

Back in 1973. I bought a 1 owner 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 4 door sedan. Very low miles. Had never been driven over 45 mph, as it had never been outside the city of Nashville. I was 18 at the time. It was my first car. Not really what a typical 18 year old boy wanted to drive back then. I kept it for about 6 months, and traded it for a new Olds Omega.

Since then, I've owned two more 1966 Coronets. Prolly just a touch of nostalgia fever, but I wouldn't mind having another '66 Coronet 500.

Not much of a MOPAR fan, but they are better than the Bowtie brigade,  Here are a couple pictures from an all MOPAR show I attended back in 2009.

I remember seeing Color Me Gone race at the Winter Nationals many many moons ago. If ever a race car had a proper name it was this one. Great driver and machine "was poetry in motion" as they say.

  • Recently purchased.  Needs a little cosmetic work but mechanically stout.  Just another hobby.

This was my favorite car of all time. My mom and I got it off the showroom floor in Cocoa Beach, Florida. It had a 440 6BBL,Automatic and we drove it daily for 8 years. It had about 128K miles and ran like a top. It was stolen and used for parts in a chop shop. I still have the thin manual just for it and the sales Order for the sale of it to us.

This was in Miami and my mom drove it every day to work at Westland Mall in Hialeah. We lived on 46th street and NE 2nd Avenue.

So many great memories and fun. I also had a '62 vette( piece of junk).DSCN1543_11011.thumb.JPG.86013bebd3eacbb7314e756c547101bc.JPG
