Monty
I've got a project that will use AMT's age-old Polyglas tires on the rear. I will not be lettering these as I feel the blackwall look will suit the build better. Here's where I need a recommendation. I need a front tire of the same vintage (no modern rubber band tires) and width, but a few scale inches shorter. Pics would be great if ya got 'em. Mark
There is an MPC version of that same (Polyglas GT) tire, it is shorter and narrower. The sidewall lettering is larger than that on the bigger tire, so you wouldn't want to paint the lettering anyway. Ertl used the two tires together in a number of kits where big/little tires were needed. The MPC tire is solid, not hollow like the AMT version. The MPC tire is the right height, but as I mentioned in the original post, I'm hoping to find something with the same width as the back tires. mk11
The amt '40 Fords used to have a wide low profile front tire. Not sure if it's in recent releases.
