AMT 1949 Ford Custom Coupe

Recommended Posts

Just wrapped up this 1949 Ford Custom Coupe. Painted in Dupli-Color Creme and clearcoated with Testors Glosscote. The color is a close match to the factory color Miami Cream. Did some research into engine colors and found out that the first half of the 1949 production year engines were painted Ford Dark Blue, last half of the year they were painted Bronze. This car would be classed as a "first half of the year" production build.

Beautiful looking Shoe Box. This has to be one of the cleanest stock '49 builds I can remember. I personally like the kit it's self and the subject. As a child I went with my father to pick up our new '49 Ford four door so as you can guess I have a special place for these cars. Except for a few details off the model, this looks as good as the real thing.
