PierreR89
So i was looking trough my pile of truck kits and was wondering what i wanted to build next and dug up these 2 kits. Then i found some auslowe parts that i had forgot i had. I am going to use the wreckerbed and sleeper from the Ford on the Mack, exact same chassie in both kits so that will be easy. I am also going to use the mack v8 instead of the cummins that comes with the superliner, i am also going to use the dual aircleaners and bullbar to give it an australian look. PierreR89
I started to build the frame for this earlier today and testfitted the engine. Had to modify one of the framerails because i think i got the oilfilters to far out from the block so they hit the frame. Will figure out the correct position for the engine once i have got the radiator in it and then go from there. Cant really decide what color the engine should be in, i know the E9's are grey, but i am thinking of having this in gold. Already know what color the truck should have and you just have to wait and see, also i am not sure that i can pull it off but going to try anyways. PierreR89
Thanks. Got the engine and transmisson painted, there are som parts i have to touch up. The last pic is just a comparison between the Mack E9 and Scania DS14 both are the same scale to.

PierreR89
Here is a preview of how i am going to paint it. There are 2 more stripes i have to add, one gold and one brown. (Extra internet points for who ever can guess what i am trying to replicate with the paintscheme on it) Bullbar is also ready for paint now. PierreR89
Have done some painting during the week and now it is just some touch up left to do on the cab sides and hood. Next up for paint is the sleeper and wrecker body, and hopefully the stripes will line up when it is mounted on the chassie Bullbar is also painted and have some small things i have to fix on it before it is done. Cpt Tuttle
Interesting project, following.....
PierreR89
Slowly getting to where i am starting to be happy about the paint on it, still alot to do.. Bottom stripe on the hood is not that far off from the cab that i thought it was going to be. No one will notice after the aircleaners are mounted on the cab anyways. The bullbar is roughly where it will be when it is time to put that on.
PierreR89
Got the cab almost done and the hood only have some small details left untill that is also done. The sleeper is nowhere near done but i am getting closer to it. Then i just have the wreckerbody left to paint so it matches the rest of the truck... After that i can start building again

PierreR89
Thanks. If you look close in some pic,s you can see what i am using as a reference for the paintscheme on it. Its not going to turn out exactly like it anyways because the sleeper is not high enough and i think it will just look weird if i try that. Also think it will look a little better once i have cleaned up the black stripes on the hood and added one around the gold to try and match the cab. PierreR89
Not done much to it for a few weeks. But i put in the engine in it and are going to start to hook up the radiator and exhaust.
PierreR89
Did some more small things on this truck. Added the fueltanks and stacks + lights on the hood. Did also run the pipes for the non exisitng intercooler (might make one in the future) and made a new downpipe for the exhaust. But i think i have to do something about the height of the wreckerbody now that i testfitted it with wheels on the truck. It looks a little to high? PierreR89
Paintjob is complete exept for some small cleanup that i need to do. Only thing left to paint is the cable so that it looks like a steelecable should. Then it is just small details like doorhandles and hinges for the storageboxes on the wrecker body and all the lights that it is going to have.
