Was I seeing things, or have I seen pictures somewhere of a coil on a Mopar engine that was tan colored with a yellow cap? I was getting ready to paint one that color, but now I can't find pictures of one anywhere. Or was it yellow with a tan cap? Help! dmthamade Posted August 22, 2019 Share Posted August 22, 2019 Aftermarket maybe? Started in the trade mid 70's, remember tan distributor caps, black coils, can't remember yellow topped Mopar coils. They're always black ( lettering color on said coil is usually a light green, but some have been found with yellow lettering) That said; Tan dist caps started showing up 1966, MAYBE ,,,,just MAYBE very late 1965.
