Bucky
I built this over the course of a year. I made several mods to the body, such as pancaking the hood and trunk lid. I fashioned hinges for the hood and trunk, and added '59 Caddy taillights. I used the frenched headlights from the kit, as well as the custom grille. Evergreen half round went into the interior and trunk. I sprayed Tamiya color coats, and Wet Look Clear on this Merc. Not my absolute best effort, but I had a lot of fun using new techniques. I haven't done many projects like this one. Comments are certainly welcome!

TarheelRick
Got that look of a late 50's custom right on point. Nothing drastic, just some really cool custom touches. That rear photo with the Caddy taillights and the pancaked trunk look a bit like a Bentley. Very nice build.
Peter Lombardo
Very nice, interesting color combination, I really like the light green. Very well done.
Bucky
Thanks for the comments! I hadn't thought about the Bentley look when I was flogging about on this one! LOL I went through several two-tone combinations before I settled on these two colors.
Jim N
It looks really nice. I think you are being a bit hard on yourself, but then we who build a kit know where the flaws are.
Bucky
One thing I kinda wish I'd spent more time on is the hinge for the trunk lid. I'm not totally happy with the way it operates. Maybe on the next one, eh? LOL
BigTallDad
I like the pancake hood and trunk! I'm curious why there are two carbs but only a single exhaust...
Bucky
I kinda got lazy, and didn't want to convert to a dual exhaust....and I really didn't even think about it having the two carbs at the time. HAHAHA
