BIGTRUCK
Drummer for Cream one of my favorite bands growing up in the 60s. He was not liked much as a person but cant argue his talent. That wickedness perhaps included his notorious temper – “I used to be mean – I’d deliberately mess up recording sessions with my temper and go mad at the slightest thing,” he said in 1970. He was married four times – “If a plane went down and there was one survivor, it would be Ginger. The devil takes care of his own,” first wife Elizabeth Ann Baker said in 2009
TonyK
Saw that first thing this morning. Enjoyed the Cream sound as it always seemed just a little bit different.
Mike 1017
The first live concert I saw was The Cream and Janis Joplin {WHO?} at Comiskey Park Chicago. I think tickets were $7.50 each. I LUV the Blind Faith album. The drum solo is still outstanding. Rest in peace. Ginger Baker. Mike

iamsuperdan
Ugh. Knew this was coming after his family posted about his illness last week. Loved his work with Masters Of Reality.

Mike C
Yeah, he was a great drummer. I just happening to be listening to Cream's "Wheels of Fire" album in my car. It has "Toad", that 15 min. drum solo on it.

Mike999
This link should take you to the 2012 documentary "Beware of Mr. Baker." In the first few minutes, Mr. Baker attacks the documentary film-maker with his walking stick.

If i had to pick I guess my style would be a mix of Ginger, John Densmore and Gene Krupa.
Phirewriter
Mr Baker was an incredible and highly influential drummer, unfortunately not so much an incredible human being. Still he will be missed.
