Best 383/auto combo for a 69 Roadrunner?

Recommended Posts

Revell's 1968-1969 Dart or 1968-1969 Charger . The engine in the Darts replicates a 383 ( or 440 , depending -- no matter for this instance ) with a 727 TorqueFlite .

The air cleaner and rocker arm covers ( colloq. "valve covers" ) are correct for 1968-1969 Chrysler big block engines --- only the left ( driver's side ) exhaust manifold being Dart ( and Barracuda ) specific . The exhaust manifold from the 1968-1969 Chargers' 440 will have the correct driver's side exhaust manifold .

Engine should be Chrysler Engine Orange , unless the car had air conditioning --- those engines were Chrysler Turquoise .

Great info everyone and it matches my recollection of the car. It didn't, and still doesn't, have a/c so the orange engine is correct. By the time I was around the car in the late 80's it had been through 16 owners so it wasn't 100% stock anymore. One of them added the big oval air cleaner from the 440 model but I dont know if the under hood duct work was there.
