drag racer 15
Does any company makes Straight 6 engine for a AMC gremlin? I want to re-create my uncles first car which was a 74 gremlin but the AMT kit only has a V-8 and his had a straight 6 thanks in advance for any help
stavanzer
https://adamrehorn.wordpress.com/model-kits/out-of-box-reviews/round-2-mpc-125-1978-amc-pacer-x-oob/ Here's your engine. And, in the right scale, in a fairly easy to locate kit too.
Bucky
And you could swap the engine with the V-8, because the Pacer was available with the 304. I test drove one back in the day that had an AMC 360 stuffed into it.
Faust
See, that's a problem... there's never enough sixes and base fours around. I think the aftermarket needs to start taking "base" more seriously. We need more base wheel covers, lower-end wheels and smaller engines so we can get some variety! Think about it; you could have all kinds of coolness with 6 cyl Caprices (They did make those, didn't they?), 4 cylinder Gen 3 F-bodies, etc. Now I'm getting turned on! The Pacer's engine would be one of those things it'd be nice to have a handful of, that's for sure!

Ron Hamilton
You may want to contact Replicas and Miniatures of MD. They did an AMC 6 for use in the Gremlin. The cost may be less than an entire kit if all you want is an engine.
Faust
That's cool about those guys making a 6 for the Gremmy! I didn't now that! The only advantage to the Pacer is when you buy it for the engine, you get a Pacer for free!! Can't be that, even if the engine is expensive. Sorry... couldn't resist. Casey
Don't forget AMT also released an AMC Pacer wagon kit which included the AMC inline six engine, too, pics of which can be viewed here: http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/149/amt-t219-pacer-custom-panel
