It's one of the dangers of rebuilding something like this...the heads were glued on solidly enough that there was no way to reposition them without risking shattered parts, so the intake manifold fit had to be "close enough." I figure once the fuel log and carb linkage is in place, most of the gaps will be hidden.
1/24DragAndStreetCars
Here's my entry! The car is from a movie titled "Love The Beast", and it actually has quite a few nice cars in it! My car of choice will be a Porsche 911 GT2, seen here in the movie. And here's the kit I'm starting with, Tamiya's 911 GT2 road kit, which should be perfect, since the cannonball is on the road after all. The kit was started, but if far from the 25% mark. Plans are a big single turbo, lowered stance, and an RWB inspired wing. Edited January 13, 2020 by 1/24DragAndStreetCars

LL3 Model Worx
Well I managed to get part of an engine together before being called away to change a starter... and tensioner pully. Family sucks someitmes... Since I didn't have any LS motors laying around and it seems many will be going that route... I chose a good ol LT1. 1/24DragAndStreetCars
Already made some progress! Got the turbo all put together, and currently I'm working on getting all the plumbing set up. First picture is the assembled Turbo, along with its filter, and the heat shield I fabbed up for it. Second is the view through the decklid. I will be fabbing up an airbox, along with an intercooler to bring it all together.

Fat Brian
Okay, I guess I'll throw an update out there. I'm trying hard to resist adding the Saleen kit to this car, I want to keep this build pretty simple so it gets done and the fender extensions/rear spoiler treatment look pretty difficult to pull off. I'm getting the big pieces together so I can start painting if the rain ever decides to stop. My first set of wheels didn't have tires and I couldn't find anything in my stash to fit them so I ordered some cheap sets of Aoshima wheels and tires to borrow from. To my surprise one of the sets had big and little tires but the bigs wouldn't fit the rear without a mini tub job. In the spirit of keeping it simple I went with four matching tires and the set of rims that looked more like the ones on the movie car, they're currently in a bath of 409 to dechrome them. My initial wheels, beautiful but not like the movie car. Not as nice wheels but closer to the movie, surprisingly comes with big and little tires even though the rims are all the same width. Getting ready for paint.
Rodent
Been doing a little prep work on the '57 Ford. Glued together a 2013 Boss 302 engine with school glue for mockup purposes. No go. It's way too wide. The exhaust ports are almost resting on the upper control arms. Plan B now.

Maybe the 302 from one of the Revell 32 Fords? Those engines are positively tiny. If you want to do something crazy you could put a 2JZ straight six from an AMT Supra in it. I am going to mock up a 67 Comet 390 with a MAD Modeling 6 speed this weekend just for fun. The transmission may be a little large for the tunnel. LL3 Model Worx
So, I FINALLY got some bench time, and was able to actually start! Here's the kit I'm using. I found a few odd spots on the hood that it I've never encountered before, but a little sanding and filling will take care of it. The dash/ guage cluster is correct for a real Daytona, but incorrect for the TV car, so I'm going to have to do some "adjusting". I've already removed the crash pad from the passenger side (not pictured) and I'm in the process of scratch building a glove box to replace it. The A/C vents on the dash also have to be moved, there are 3 vents in the TV car and 4 on the real car and this kit. The center console has to be modified for C4 style shifter/plate also, along with the door panels and seats. Hoping to finish the dash and seats tomorrow, and hopefully have something of more value to post. But at least I've now left the starting line. I've just finished watching the second season MV (before the Testarossa arrived). It's one cool kit car - hard to believe it's a Corvette! I guess the interior is the big giveaway (the mods you make will be interesting), but then I'm not a "proper" car guy & didn't notice the 250GT California in Ferris Bueller has a V8!! Cool project - will be watching.
89AKurt
25. 89AKurt - The Thomas Crown Affair 68 Ferrari Almost forgot that I'm a participant. ? I hit a speed bump at the apex of a hairpin, had to redo the paint. Got to the base color last night. ? I started another model, a green '69 Chevy pickup. Wondering if there is a movie that had one. ?
Pete75
23. Pete75 - Lotus Esprit S1 The Spy Who Loved Me After a small customs delay, the kit has arrived from Japan for my 007 Lotus: It’s a basic curbside affair, but I like what see. Now I just hope I can do some kind of justice to a movie icon. (Or failing that, not totally insult it!) Don’t know about time frame, but at least we’ve checked in at the parking lot before the start line! (Yes, I know it's from Octopussy & not The Spy Who Loved Me!!) Cool project - will be watching. Thanks. My dad actually painted the original body's used for the show. The interior is going to take a fair amount of work to make it resemble the actual TV car. The body doesn't need much at all, the only thing I'll really have to do is cut out the pop up headlights and change it to the configuration used on the TV car. I'm hoping it comes out good. 1 hour ago, Belugawrx said: Looks like some acetone splashed on there...? I'm honestly not sure, I got the kit from a friend, it's just unlike any of the standard blemishes ive seen. It would make perfect sense though... In any case I've filled and sanded it away with no issues.
