New from Missing Link resin: '71-'72 Pontiac LeMans trans kit for '72 GTO kit... *PIC*...

Recommended Posts

Kevin lists this as a '71-'72 trans kit. To me, the grille design looks a bit more like a '72. The non-scoop hood has complete underside detail. The chrome headlights will need lenses.

I'm nothing to Missing Link except an enthusiastic customer. I'm just passing this info along.

That's a '71 GTO promo in my photo.

Be aware, the grilles are 3D printed masters, and the holes for the grille will have to be massaged for the grille to fit. When I made the front end, there were no 3D parts available yet , and that ring you see in the grille openings was actually meant to be part of the grille. It will need removed.

You are right, the grille shown is for a '72, but a '71 is going to be available at some point.

Also be aware the 1972 GTO donor kit has the wrong door panels. They look more like they're for a '70 or something.

Also be aware that Kevin sells a corrected rear bumper that's not too wide for the car.

Also be aware, I seem to use "be aware" too much.

Hi I got this trans kit from Keven and what I did with the grill was to leave the ring alone I did not want to mess with it it looked great I made a back piece with the center bar the 71 the grill is a deep look so it worked out nice as soon as I am done I will try to post some phots but all and all it looks great and it was easy to work with.

I'd really like to have a couple of these kits, I recently got into 1/25 slot car drag racing and I have been making cars that belong to friends that have kits available to replicate them.  I started thinking it's only right that I build one of my car also.  I've see this conversion done online really well by a guy doing scratch, and i have begun to try it myself, but admittedly,  it's my first attempt at any kind of scratch building and i'm pretty terrible at it.  HAHA    It's slow going, but i'm picking at it a little at a time.
