I've only built the AMT Aerodyne, following this one.  Those injector pins look to be a real pain!

Yeah, they're extra work for sure, but that's fine. Just one more step to make sure its right. :)

Made a little more progress last night. Rear suspension is almost complete. Little bit of cleanup and seam removal, and a bit of adjustment, and should have paint by the end of the week. The seams on the axles look far more pronounced in the pics than they do in person.

And I painted the belts on the engine.

Nice work Sam its coming on a treat. Any plans as to colours?

That's Dan, Dave. I'm Sam.  😉

Dan, I appreciate you showing all the clean up that needs to be done for a better fit. It will make mine go so much smoother.

After building AMT trucks, this one is a beautiful experience! Once the ejector pin things are shaved, the fit and finish is excellent. I'll keep on updating and commenting/critiquing. :)

lolz. Yes, I have decided on a colour, and I will not be changing my mind.

Blue frame, white cab. Ahhh, but what shade of blue? Stay tuned...

I am working on the Revell Aerodyne also, but it doesn't seem to have all those injection tabs that you have on your kit, maybe its because it is a later one? also everything is moulded in white where as yours is in black, the strangest thing for me was the lack of any representation of a starter motor, at least the AMT K123 has one, but then it didn't have an alternator where as the Revell engine has, you can't win sometimes. Anyway yours looks like it is coming together just fine, looking forward to more photo's.

Not building as quickly as some of you, but I'm getting stuff done.

Here's the somewhat complete and straight frame. Getting the other components ready, then paint.

And I've done basic assembly of the engine and painted it. Time for detailing now.

It's a Tamiya colour. I think it's Buff? I'll check tonight for you.

Definitely looks like Tamiya Buff , deck tan is more gray

And indeed it is! Tamiya XF57 is a fairly close choice for Cummins beige. Close enough for me anyway. :)

Good looking build so far ! Always wanted to build one of these , haven’t gotten one yet. Hopefully I will get my hands on one at some point . Are you interested in getting rid of the wire hubcaps? I can’t stand the look of them but I am doing a Petty car hauler that actually had them . If you are, Pm me . More important, get well from surgery!

Frame is painted! Still need to do some detail painting to it. Slow speed, might as well refer to this as Project Glacier. 😁

Dan before you fit the axel pins I would drill them out and put a metal rod strait through the rear axels. then cut off the front pins drill out the hubs and fit a metal rod in there too . It will prove to be much stronger . Trust me you will break one . You can thank me later! Love the colour on the chassis BTW
