In 10 days and BOOM ready for paint?  What's my problem?  ?  I like it, look forward to watching progress.

Actually, I had worked on it for a couple of days before I started the thread. So, I have almost two weeks into it.

I got the body in the first coat of final primer and I'm out. I need to order a couple more cans and get the paint also. I did a quick mockup and I'm not that thrilled with the look. Don't know if it's just the wheels that need changed or if I need to change wheels and tires. It just doesn't do it for me. Maybe my mind will change once I get some paint on the body. Until then, I'm going to put it on hold.

I like the looks of the wheels and it's final appearance will change depending on body color which is ??

I've decided to go with the Tamiya AS -29 Gray Green. Haven't decided if I will shoot pearl over it or not.

Sounds like an interesting color. I guess I would have to see what it would look like with a Pearl Coat on it. I have noticed that the Pearl effect doesn't turn out to well in the pictures on line.

Roger did you test the Tamiya color we talked about?  Your truck looks awesome in primer!

Thanx Carl! I don't have the color in hand just yet. Don't have the primer either. Should be here anytime.

The effect in person is just as it should be. Especially when it's out in the sunlight. It is hard to capture in photos. But, I'm more concerned with how it looks in person. To me, the pearl effect should never be obvious in photos. If it is, it's overdone.

I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I did a '60 Falcon Ranchero in Tamiya TS060 Pearl Green body and Testors #1845 Mystic Green roof and dash. The body turned out with a soft shine to it even with a clear coat.

I got the paint yesterday and couldn't wait to spray some to see what it looks like. I painted the floorpan, door panels and dash. Easy to see why it's called Gray Green. It's a tough color to truly capture in a photo.

Shows a little better in the sun light.

I made a couple more modifications to the cab. I added styrene to the bottom of the side glass openings to bring them up where they should be. I also added the hood trim from the F-1. I cut the bottom spears away since there wasn't enough room. Once dry, I cut out a slot below the spear. To me, it really ties in the car's front end with the truck's cab. I'm contemplating using the pickup's bumpers. I also have a set of smooth bumpers from the IMC '48 Ford that a member on another forum who was kind enough to send to me. I'll have to see which suits it best. Luckily, that's a last minute detail.

I finally got some paint on the body! I'm pretty happy with the color. I had to change the background to get the actual color to show. I've decided to shoot a coat of pearl over it before clear. With the round corners and curves the body has, it'll have a nice effect. Almost all of the remaining parts are in paint. So, hopefully this one will be done soon.
