Rbray47
This kit arrived yesterday from ebay. The original plan is to build a replica of the truck I once owned. Mine however, had the 2.3 engine. So far, I've stripped the chrome from the wheels, painted them Tamiya gloss aluminum, and mocked up the chassis. A couple of weeks ago, I started to build a 2.3 to go in it. Mostly going from memory, I think I'm getting pretty close. If anyone has any critiques, please let me know as I'd like to get it correct as possible. I started with the block from a glue bomb Courier. The coil packs, as well as the upper and lower intake are completely scratchbuilt. The exhaust manifold is a modified junk box item. The valve cover started as a bbc piece that was shortened and smoothed out. The oil pan will not work. I haven't figured that one out yet, but I'm working on it. All of the pulleys and accessories came from the parts box, not sure what they came from. They're all attached accept the idlers. The belt will be masking tape. My truck didnt have yellow plug wires, but that's all I have. Routing all 8 was a chore.
mk11
Looks like a great start! You're making me want to dig out the one that came to me sans chrome, headlights and bumpers and start a remodel into an '01-'03 look, with 5.0 motivation

Rbray47
Thanks, guys. I ran into a bit of a snag. My truck was Electric Red. I dont know which hobby spray would be a match for it. Plus, I haven't been successful with the oil pan. Also, the kit has bucket seats with a center console. I'll have to figure out how to remove it from the kits bucket. Mine had the center cushion thing that folded up and down.
Jordan White
If it's paint code EG, then Duplicolor has it in their Perfect Match spray line, BFM0317. You can get it from most auto parts stores, either in store or they can order it in for you.
