landman
I opened a 58 Thunderbird box labelled "1941 Ford Woody" and it contained the body of the woody (eBay) and a 39/40 coach (old build) which will serve as a donor. There is also some woodgrain decals from Uschi van der Rosten. I'll try to do it justice.

landman
I was supposed to do the next one out of the box, go figure. Anyway, it turns out the donor car has no engine so into the bin I go. I thought of using the engine in the sedan delivery but I remembered I have other plans for it.
landman
In real life, the 41 has a 114" wheelbase whereas the 40 has a 112" wheelbase. In AMT land it looks like a bit more. An adjustment will be necessary. Cut the "hump' to clear the wagon's rear cargo floor.
landman
Cut along a flat surface to have a nice mating surface for the spacer. Tacked the first one on. It just might catch it. Maybe 2 more millimeters.
landman
Second spacer has been added. driveshaft lengtened to match.
landman
Changed the wheels for something more appropriate. the parts bin engine is taking shape. Meanwhile I am experimenting with different paints on plastic spoons to try to avoid the last ordeal.

stavanzer
Dark Ghost Gray will always be flat. It's a USAF Colour. F-15's and F-16's use it for part of their camo paint jobs.

landman
Look like the clear will do the trick. Painted the interior CAT yellow as a base for the Vallejo woodgrain stains.
landman
This is taking some srious masking. I had done the roof mask separately hoping to just peel it off but it didn't work. so I remasked to paint the roof.
landman
The decals wouldn't set over the interior details so I woodgrained it by hand. Hope you like it.
