It almost broke my heart to scrape those cool old-school flame decals off, but they were in such bad shape that they had to go, as they no longer fit in with the look of the rest of it. If I ever run across another set of them, I'd give serious thought to putting them back on, as they do offer a little color to the thing. My collection of Deuces is AMT-free, I'm sorry to say, I have 2 models, however, that almost qualify, First, and more closely in the spirit of this thread, here's my "fake" AMT box-art build,based on the street rod version of "The Deuce" on the original issue box art. It's constructed with virtually no AMT parts (except for the valve covers, Moon discs and fenders) from the Revell 1/25th scale '32 Fords: The other is a tribute build I did in honor of the fine folks at ThePartsBox.com in Australia. It's based on their AMT-based chopped 5-window coupe resn body and it's right-hand-drive, naturally. My wife and I had a dog that looked just like it. Craig, without having the packaging handy to check, I'm pretty sure she came from a range called Motorheads. This one was from a set of five girls in a variety of poses. They are pre-painted resin and easily the best off-the-shelf 1/25th scale figures I've ever come across. And Pete, that blue Vicky is - I don't know, words fail me , I'm going to just say I think that is the best build of an AMT Vicky I have ever seen. Gorgeous! The coupes are pretty cool too but the Vicky - ahhhhhhh! Bernard, don't you love thepartsbox.com resin? I know Jason and Michelle very well and the products they produce are just fantastic. bill-e-boy Posted May 8, 2020 Share Posted May 8, 2020 Some nice builds there Below is a couple of mine The coupe was a challenge with a fellow club member as to who could build the lowest 32 Coupe - yup I won The other is a build from the early 80's - 427 from the kit with a C6 instead of the flatty gearbox, 4 barrel, rocker covers and air cleaner from a 69 Cobra, scratch-built headers, Jag XKE front and rear, top chop, blue window tint in a nod to Uncle Tim, paint is Humbrol red mixed with silver Humbrol plus clear, wires from XKE widened in the back. Love the B&W pic of the five window - that is straight out of Car Craft or Rod and Custom! Stunning proportions. As promised, I can finally post my completed Double Kit 32 Custom Tudor. This model would not exist except for the overwhelming generosity of Steve, AKA Muncie. It was quite a challenge and I still have to work out a clean method to fit my tinted blue roof insert but it is finished for now so here it is for your enjoyment. Since you since mentioned my corrupting you into building one of your "faux-vivors" as we call them on the Survivors group, I guess I could share a few of mine. The 4 in the center are my builds, bookended by some survivors on the Vintage Workbench. A better view of the Vintage Workbench, with a few more survivors, and my black full fendered Deuce Coupe. And a greenish yellow survivor clove. Here is my box art coupe, which is far from box stock. Build notes here: I'll go out on a a short limb and guess this is the build Alan is referring to... landman Posted November 5, 2021 Share Posted November 5, 2021 May as well follow suit. I only have 3. The blue body was a gift from a friend and was built around 50 years ago. I think I used the chassis somewhere else. The gray Tudor is an old build as well, early 80's. It was built during my clearcoat over colored plastic phase. Victoria, British Columbia, the provincial capital has been hosting the Pacific Nor’ West Deuce Days for a number of years and our club Scale Plastic Auto Modellers (SPAM) takes part with a Deuces in Scale display. The Blue Suede Vicky was built for 2016 and the Red Hot Phaeton for the 2019 event (it occurs every third year).
