DrKerry
Building this using one of Flintstone’s bodies. Cut the doors and trunk out and cut hood away. Chassis is from a Revell 32, Z’d in rear with a suicide mounted front axle. Resin quick change out back along with Revell’s flattie in it. Using Revell door hinges on it to hang doors. Firewall built using a 32 Ford firewall as a starting point. Comments welcome! Edited April 8, 2020 by DrKerry
Claude Thibodeau
Hi Kerry! What a great project. I'm also a fan of Bonnie cars, and yours is already very detailed. I bought 2 copies of this body from Flintstone a few years ago, with the intent to modify them to obtain an Alloway Speedstar, since the proportions are ok. But your work gives me second thoughts, and I may lean again toward a salt car... However, my copies were VERY thick in the side walls, due to the molding process, I guess. Did you face this problem, and did-you grind them down? Just curious... CT

DrKerry
Rear axle is in! Wheels have a brass pin through the center so I can pull them off for the rest of the build. Will be glued in permanent when I’m done with the build.. Engine is just sitting in the chassis right now.. Tape is marking where the roll bar will be, behind it! chassis with axle in.. sitting purty!

Great work, the rake is absolutely perfect for a salt car. Impressive! Keep going... Just a quick question: any relation to the famous late disc-jockey Dan Ingram? He was my idol when I was aspiring to make a living in radio, back in the 60's... Just curious... CT

misterNNL
I'm loving this project. The splicing in of the door panels that include the hinge piece is inspired. I personally would like to see some profile photos of the hood section mounted to the body with the front wheel removed to see where and how you cut into the body and hood to make way for that frame.rail. I have both styles of that JF body in my stash and that section has me scratching my head for a viable solution. Thanks for sharing your considerable talent with us.
