Mopar - D
I have been planning this Heavy Haul project for a couple years now and I’m excited to get started on it. I made a attempt last year to start this project but with having a new home built and the packing and moving well here it is a year later but I’m in my new home with my new model room set up. The project is going to be a Mack DM800 pulling a refinery vessel on 4 sets of Scheuerle 3 axle module transporters. The Mack is the MPC kit, 3 axle module transporters are from KFS and the refinery vessel will be scratch built using Dan’s engineering design (40 years working in engineering and construction building refineries will have some help). Starting with the Scheuerle 3 axle module transporters and every piece has to have a lot trimmed off. There’s going to be a lot of measurements figured out to. Here’s some pictures of what I’m starting with.

Mopar - D
I’m making progress cleaning up all the parts and trimming them. I’ve glued the frame together and now working on each of the wheel assemblies. Here’s where I’m at now.

Mopar - D
Thanks for all your comments. Next will be to drill holes for the hydraulic lines that adjust the ride height on the transporter and the steering. I’m hoping to get some paint on this one by the end of the week. tbill
This is going to be a cool build. Am I dreaming, or did you post something about doing this build at some point before ? The pics look like I’ve seen them before, the pile of cool parts that is. Or have I lost my last remaining marble , lol.

Mopar - D
Tom, you’re not losing your marbles lol. Last year I made a attempt to start this build but with having my new home built and packing and unpacking plus moving I didn’t get any where on the build. Now I’m moved In and have my new model room set up I’m back building again. Thanks for remembering.

Mopar - D
I’ve primed modular transporter #1 and starting on modular transporter #3. Transporter #3&4 are newer models and have a little more deck height than the older modular transporter #1&2 but it’s not going to be a problem I’ll make up the difference in the saddles supports on the vessel. Mopar - D
We have had some nice weather here for painting so I now have transporter #1 now painted except for some black for the tires.

gotnitro?
Nice display space ! I'm envious, we live in a Cape cod home where the upstairs ceilings pitch inwards cutting space in half . Your really making progress
Mr mopar
This looks interesting a lot of resin Parts to play with , I'll follow this one !
Mopar - D
Thanks Jeff it’s taken me over 15 years to be able to get it. Spencer yeah you’re correct there’s a lot of resin parts And white metal parts plus parts that need to be cut to fit. Here’s my test fit up with the wheels. tbill
Looking good! Kiss that shelf space goodbye, lol, us truck builders kill display space at an alarming rate, haha.
