Heavy Haul Project

Thanks Gator

Trial fit up of transporter #1& #3. Next will be to run all the hydraulic lines for both transporters. I’m going to make up the elevation difference between the two in the rigging supporting the vessel.

Thanks for everyone’s comments.

The things you are plumbing now looks like air brake chambers to me, there is one for each wheel pair.
The shock absorber looking thingy further inside the knee of the suspension arms is the hydraulic ram for hight adjustments and leveling.

Here are a couple of pictures to show what I mean, first the hydraulic ram.

And here you can see the air brake chambers between the wheels, there are no spring brakes on these, only a single air chambercompatible-with-goldhofer.jpg.422cbf1a21d7e11568d81c94f96a6112.jpg

I’ve started on the tow truck that’s the Mack DM 800. Started with putting together the frame and test fixing the wheels from AITM. I’m now checking to see which transporter fits best with the heights of the Mack it looks like transporter #3 the taller one will connect the best. Here’s the mock up with the up graded wheels. Next I will have a mock-up of the goose neck and transporter attached to the Mack. I appreciate everyone’s comments.

Wow Dan, This is certainly a great looking beast and the Mack DM 800 seems to be appropriate for such a load. I'm excited to see the whole thing finished.

May I ask whether the blue tractor with the trailer loaded with two transporters is a Dodge Bighorn? Can you please tell me where did you get the hood adornment or did you do it yourself?

Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks, Juergen
