Tamiya 1/24 Mazda RX-7 FD-3S Innocent Blue Mica

Italianhorses

Recommended Posts

Finished this one recently. Box-stock, painted Zero paints Innocent Blue Mica, Advantage HD 2K clear, Tamiya acrylics on the interior/rest. This is one of the JDM versions of the car (Efini RX-7) with no engine detail. Glued the hood shut to make panel lines nice and even. Terrific Tamiya kit.

As I've come to expect from you, an amazing looking build.

I think something that you do better than most is your photography. The lighting is excellent. Care to post up a pic of your "photobooth?"

:)

Thanks! I don't really have a booth - just a sheet of poster paper, and a $30 6K LED panel from Home Depot.

Alex...your panel lines look PERFECT.  Would love to know your technique.  I paint with rattle cans and no matter how careful I prep or paint it seems like the panel lines flood with paint.  Your model is gorgeous.

Thank you! I re-scribe ALL panel lines before painting, so they are much deeper than what kit makes make them. That is the only trick really.

Here is the link to WIP thread for this model - you can see couple of shot there with primer on and panel lines re-scribed:

Using standard settings on the camera? Made any tweaks there?
