Classicgas Posted July 2, 2020 Will have poverty caps, either redlines or whitewalls and a TH400. Painted in Madiera Maroon custom mixed at work. I'm leaning towards a black interior but maybe parchment.
oldscool Posted July 2, 2020 Paint looks good. I have always liked the parchment interiors.
slusher Posted July 3, 2020 Looking awesome Lee!
Plowboy Posted July 3, 2020 Paint looks good! I think an interior a shade off of the body color would look nice in it.
Classicgas Posted July 3, 2020 Unfortunately a maroon interior wasn't stock. There was red but I'm pretty sure it was quite a bit lighter . It would look good tho.
Superbird McMonte Posted July 3, 2020 My neighbor had one of those in that color in the 70s and 80s! By the end of the 80s it was a real rat. Rotted to death!?

Bob Ellis Posted July 3, 2020 I am amazed at ho many people are building this kit as not a Supernatural car.
1972coronet Posted July 3, 2020 Looks great so far ! Excellent colour choice --- perfect for a big 4 door hardtop ( Sport Sedan , in Chevrolet lingo ) of that era . The Mark IV looks nice as well . I'm guessing that you're going to slide a TH-400 behind it (?) . That's my plan ; however , I may procure the 396 / 400 from the '68 El Camino , or the 454 / 400 from the '70 Monte Carlo . I think the majority but certainly not all are interested in it as a 4 door more than the Supernatural connection.
mredjr Posted July 4, 2020 I am excited about it for my Goodie Shop Diorama.
espo Posted July 4, 2020 I think that the appeal to a lot of builders is the main stream nature of the kit. This gives everyone something that normally would only be available as a resin casting. Nothing wrong with that, but for the cost of a casting alone you have an entire kit and don't have to cannibalize an existing kit.
minkos Posted July 5, 2020 Nice! I’m doing one in the same color with the black interior. I found some resin ‘67 Impala SS hubcaps, I might try to remove the SS emblems and paint the bow ties on.
Classicgas Posted July 6, 2020 Going with burgundy interior. Mixed a slightly lighter shade for the carpet.
Classicgas Posted July 7, 2020 Got the prototype badges from Speedway Decals. If the are correct this is how the sheet will look if offered.
mredjr Posted July 9, 2020 Lee are the decals to scale they look a little heavy? I ordered a couple of sets and hope they fit.
espo Posted July 9, 2020 Those are good looking trim pieces. Looks like you have badges for the 427, 396. and 327 engines. The 325/396 was a pretty common option at that time for someone wanting a little, well OK, a lot more torque than the 327 had to offer.
Classicgas Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) These are preproduction examples. They look good to my eyes and badges for all engines are there. Im pretty sure they'll fit fine. He's never been off yet.. Edited July 9, 2020 by Classicgas
