Steve H
Hi guys, I love old Chev trucks and wanted a shop truck for my display case. The body is channeled over the chassis and suspension lowered. The 409 came from a ‘62 Impala kit with the Offenhauser valve covers. I added ignition wires and fuel line. The interior has bucket seats, console, and a sub woofer. Exhaust exits thru the body, and nope... no mufflers. I made a rubber bed mat from some thin rubber to protect the precious cargo. Wheels are parts box GM rallye wheels with parts box tires. For the rear tires, I used two tires cut and glued together to get the width I wanted. Paint is charcoal grey with flat clear, roof is dark blue with patina and gloss clear. Decals are from the ‘41 Chev truck with some bullet holes. Thanks for looking, comments welcome. Cheers, Steve

AmericanMuscleFan
Very nice build Steve! I always loved this body style. A mechanic friend of mine has one (a real one) in the back of his recycling yard with trees growing through the frame rails, but I can't stop staring at it wistfully as I pass through the corner. I love sixties trucks regardless of the manufacturer and the '64 Chevy is no exception. Well done again sir!!!

Hello Jeremy! You can send me a PM if you like. I built this several years ago, but I would be happy to help in any way I can. Thanks for bringing this one back up, I had forgotten about it! Oops 😬

Thank you Bob, the groceries would definitely still fit in with the cargo. Probably have to strap them down, I’ve heard the driver likes to open up the 409…😜 15 hours ago, Olskoolrodder said: Beautiful build Thanks for the kind words Stephen!

Haha....I remember back in the day a friend of mine had a white 64 Chevy with the 409 with the stock two 4 barrels. We use to ride around drinking a few cold ones. Can't tell you how many times I ended up with my pants wet between my legs.

The plan is for the 348/409 to go into a early 1960's style Deuce 3W Coupe - chopped, full fendered, candy apple red, chrome wheels, wide whites, white button tuff interior
