e30lover Posted October 4, 2020 Back in 2010 I made a roof rack and vintage Coca Cola cooler out of styrene sheets and aluminum wires, then cut out doors, before stashing it away. Fast forward to 2020 I bowed to complete all the boxes that I had before buying any other new kit, and this is one of them. I painted with TS-10 french blue and TS-68 wooden deck tan, masked the windows and used BMF for other chrome trims. I really rushed making this one and ended up making decent amount of mistakes, but now I got rid of all the unopened boxes except for Fujimi EM Lancia Stratos, before going on another buying spree. doorsovdoon Posted October 5, 2020 Very nice looking bug, I like the colour. Good job with the roof rack, it looks exactly like the racks advertised in the old car maintenance magazines.
shoopdog Posted October 5, 2020 Great job on your Beetle! This is the only Tamiya kit I've built and it was definitely a pleasure.

espo Posted October 5, 2020 Nice clean looking Type 1. The cooler and roof rack are a nice addition to the overall look. Great paint work inside and on the body.

Thank you. If I were to do it again, I'd use slightly thinner gauge wires. On 10/5/2020 at 7:42 AM, shoopdog said: Great job on your Beetle! Back in 2010 I planned on slamming it with two-tone body, but I just wanted to finish it and move on! 15 hours ago, Zoom said: Well done! Appreciate it! 13 hours ago, Classicgas said: Very well done. How did you hinge the doors? Thanks. I used a few circuit board connector pins and putty instead of making a proper hinge, and it has some fitment issues. 13 hours ago, PappyD340 said: Looks great, well done!
