68 Oldsmobile Toronado in Aztec Gold (Jo-Han promo restoration)

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

this is my first promo restoration.

This one fought me long and hard, mainly because of the issues that came with the hotmelt glue it was originally put together with.

It may have been a tough one, but it looks like the effort really paid off - and interesting subject and it looks excellent.

Great looking paint finish and color. The body chrome foil looks very cleanly done. I like the windshield treatment as well.

nice work   my father had a   70  toronado  that was gold back when he was 16    in the mid 70's it was a handme down  from his  aunt    he had it till he went to college    the first year he was not alowed to have his car  on campus so he he left  it  back at his home  and drove it when  he went back home till he  lent it to a friend and he  smashed the front  passanger side up    when he   collided with    a  traffic light post    when he  took it  to  a party in   pittsburgh    and he had never drivin around  there before  that friend got my dad  another car   a 76 olds cutlass   which was his second car  till  the  late 80's  when he  got a  late 80's z28  which   he had till  i was 7  then he sold it   and  started to by   suvs  with v6 engines

That is real nice. Paint suits it perfectly, metallics look so right on this design of car.

Nice, thanks for reminding me that I have a Toronado kit that sort of needs to be built. ;)
