Gluebomber Posted January 6 Below are some pics of the Gunze Sangyo Triumph TR-3. The kit is a curbside and was built essentially box-stock with the exception of some stainless steel wire added to the fender tops and some rivets to simulate the snaps for the convertible top. I also replaced the kit wheels with the plastic wire wheels from an Italeri Ferrari 250 GTO. Paint is Tamiya Spray British Green (TS-9) decanted and airbrushed and a mix of Tamiya acrylics for the interior. I was lucky to find this excellent kit at a model contest. Too bad it's out of production. All comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Thanks for looking!
bbowser Posted January 6 Beautiful! My uncle had one of these, it was great fun with the wind in your face and elbows scraping the ground.

robertw Posted January 7 Gunze had a very nice selection of small sports cars which with a little extra work, as you've done, turned a basic kit into a eye turner so well done. I wonder where these molds are today and I wish they would be reissued.
Dave B Posted January 8 (edited) That is an exceptionally neat and clean build Larry, congratulations. Dave B Edited January 8 by Dave B typo
BeakDoc Posted January 8 Very nice! My high school Chem teacher drove a patina/rusted sky blue one. He was about 6’8” so it looked like he was wearing it rather than sitting in it.
espo Posted January 8 Very cleanly built. Perfect color for this one. I had a friend many years ago that owned one of these. Poor guy spent more time and money under it than he did driving it, but he loved it.
John Goschke Posted January 8 Really crisp build! Looks perfect.

doorsovdoon Posted January 9 Beautiful TR3, such a classic. Super nice detail, though the number plate is wrong for the age of the car.
