64 Chevy PU Snowball Project

Recommended Posts

So, I decided to tackle a "simple" project to finish in between working on the Flintstone Flyers. I have several bodies I painted for drag slot cars, but never finished. So now that I'm out of the Racing, I believe, I can turn these bodies into finished builds pretty easily....right?

I changed my mind on the tires, rebuilt the rear end to accommodate the new tire choice, made adapter spindles, then found the fronts to be too wide and it set too high. I decided to utilize the lowering set up from Iceman, which didn't help that problem. Ended up rebuilding those parts because they were brittle.

Now changed tires again to come in farther, but now I am making disc brakes and rotors for those, plus making a stronger spindle set up.

Here are some pics to show the progression so far.

Well, it's been a long time for an update, partially due to figuring out chassis issues, wheel options, and just plain couldn't find my posting. Finally had to search my attachments.

I changed the wheels back to earlier choice. The front suspension parts from Iceman Collections are nice, but are too wide. Even both drop chassis I got are too wide also. Maybe a 1/24 scale truck might work, but how many are in 1/24?? I modified them some, but still ended up too wide. Not changing them again. Made the airbags from scratch on the lathe.

Sooo....here it is.IMG_20220521_075942819_HDR.jpg.1850acaf230197ef6611ca29eaecd0c9.jpgIMG_20220521_075957475_HDR.jpg.4ad19f18e9552c8ef2539d5f19eaf783.jpgIMG_20220529_065328259.jpg.937a8f3791e94e62fc6f77aad03fa871.jpgIMG_20220520_083239533.jpg.239bed0654d80bf770532365354330a1.jpgIMG_20220530_082843660.jpg.84583dfdacf1a8947ae6df285cc2c628.jpgIMG_20220530_082853818.jpg.c1b49acee3699af6599ef030a34a2c98.jpg
