MarcoTJ Posted January 15 Hi! This is my first post. A Ford GT. The kit is from Revell straight from the box. Painted with polyester Paints and 2k varnish. Thanks for looking!
Gluebomber Posted January 15 Looks great, Marco. You got the most out of this box-stock build!
Monty Posted January 15 Welcome! Looks like you've done a fantastic job on this build. Really like your paint work. Would you mind elaborating on "polyester paints"? (Links etc) I'm always looking for new sources, and I'd never heard of these.
Matt Bacon Posted January 16 That looks absolutely fantastic. The detail, and the quality of the paintwork, are second to none. I doubt that Revell kit has ever looked better... best, M.

vamach1 Posted January 16 Welcome Marco. Take this as a compliment - at first I thought it was an expensive diecast. Superb paint and detail on the multi-color livery and the decals.

They work in conjuction with a clear coat afterwards. The base coat dries to a matt finish and has no mechanical resistance. The 2k clear coat can be wet sanded and polished. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp-0709-automotive-paint/ In this link they refer it as a BC/CC system. For airbrushing, the paint needs heavy thinning and a spray booth. I'm not sure, but I think Zero Paints use these paints.
