crowe-t Posted January 21 Is Dupli-Color Sandable Red Oxide Primer more towards red or brown? I've seen red oxide primers that look very brown and some very red.
1972coronet Posted January 21 More brown than red . It's a great filler primer ("sandable") ; relatively-high-build , which is perfect for filling course scratches . Don't go crazy with applying it --- mask areas which you don't want it on .

I use Duplicolor Sandable Gray Hot Rod and White primer and it goes on thin. I need Red Oxide for a project and needed to know if it's more red or more brown. I use Dupli-Color part number FP-102 ; I've also used 'knockoff' red oxide primers --- all have an adobe tone . They're more brown than red . Nice felines , by the way ? 1972coronet Posted January 23 Perhaps a painting-order of : (1.) Red Oxide Primer (2.) Clear-Red 'colour' coat (3.) Dull Coat , if that's the finish you desire .
