I like the mods you've done to the front clip...Stay with stock hood... my 2cents

Looking good

Thanks! And thanks for you thoughts I appreciate it! Yes I think I will, need to sort out the glue damage on that one though.

Awesome build Anton. Love the low stance, wheel/tire combo, engine choice,  and the creativity of project. I agree with Rusty and Bruce that the stock hood is more in keeping with the theme, but man.... the other hood is really cool. Tough call there for me.

Cheers, Steve

The stock hood is nice looking, and keeping in the spirit of theme of stock appearance.

I can agree on that 🙂 thanks for your input! 🙂

Thanks allot! It’s not a straight forward project that’s for sure, it’s allot of engineering and thinking 🙂 thanks for your two cents!

Some baby steps.. new bed Habbe gotten its inside cut out, I did manage to damage the outer side of the fender while cutting from the backside, so some sanding and filling was needed. Stil need some grinding on the lower front edge to the cab to get the bed to align with the cab.

Made some progress on the truck. Have some real figment issues on the hood have to test the other one and se if it at least have the right length.

have glued the fuel cells, and part of the frame in after some modifications to the fitment, not happy  with them yet but I think I have an sulution for it when making the fuel cell larger.
also glued the lower bed sides in and tried to fit the roll pan but it was to narrow.. so a custom one will have to be made. And that might be good any how since the decisor will need to be extended and exit in that space.

Started working with the dash. The stock dash will be hard to fit.. the corvette dash is to narrow.. but a Revell 1/24 nascar dash might cut it. What’s your thought on this piece? Feels like every step is a lot of engineering, I am glad that’s my profession😂

Some small steps forward.. I think.. even though I keep incorporating new ideas al the time! 😆

Made a start on the rear suspension pushrod modification. Need to adjust the angle a bit.

The pencil makes for a good  replacement coil over shock in comparison to the box piece and the Shelby series one part.

also made some work up front by removing the stock steering gear and grinding al those parts out, and made a start on the replacement C5 corvette part from the partsbox.

Got my nos kit and got a new hood, fitment is way better but not good. Made some progress with the hood fitment any how. Had to cut out the original center section to be able to fit the hood. Did also try a new grill/bumper to se if the fitment is better..  will be needing some filling.

Had a Bad day at work so I needed something so I stoped thinking of work.. so since I am hoping around on the truck I got stuck on the dash..

o and by the way.. the seat will not keep being stuck to  blower. It was just te right height for mock-up.

Oh man! LOVE that mock up of the rolling chassis! Wicked ride height, this really looking great. Looks like you are close to having your hood issue sorted out. Very nice work Anton!

Cheers, Steve

Thanks dude! I like that as well!  Need a little lift in the rear so it sits straight though. Thanks I think I will get it sorted.
thanks for following along and cheering me on!

I keep on adopting the parts for this project. I have now flattened out the drivetrain tunnel, extended it, removed the battery and filled that hole. After CA and sanding it feels good so I reused some C5R frame parts as seat bases. Will look good with the PE seat bracket on there!

Made some more progress to night, cleaned and made a new system in my drawers for all my modeling stuff. After that I made some clearance for the headers that had no way to escape the tire nor any space in the transmission tunnel. Also boxed the frame as it should have been since it’s a hydro formed frame. Also made a plate to shield the exhaust heat from the cab. Need to Finnish of the cage next on the interior, along with the transmission tunnel.. and we will see if the nascar cage sides remains.. just to bad that I started with the nascar cage since so little remains al ready.

#1 before the modifications

#2 cutouts made and filler piece glued in.
#3 frame boxed in.
#4&5 after changes and test fit with the cage.

  • 3 months later...

Summer have been awesome with allot of sun, boat trips, constructing and sow on. So there have not been allot of bench time. Made some minor progress over the last few days.

I have fixated the bed to the cab. Measures and cut to extend the difusor but the angle I cut it in pushed the top edge inward so now when the body is situated I see that I have to extend it more to compensate for the angle.
