martinfan5 Posted March 1 (edited) So this is interesting, just got listed up for pre order(3/1) on Hobby Search , Japan release date of June. Edited March 1 by martinfan5
mikemodeler Posted March 1 I don't need another Bronco kit and I already have a couple of half cabs from Olson Bros., but I could be a buyer if it comes with the trailer and buggy! Not surprised they are still milking the tooling for another version.
youpey Posted March 1 (edited) I have been wanting a buggy for so long. I almost bought one of the old ones from ebay but it went for too much. If it does come with a buggy, i will order 3 i think. I dont care about that style bronco, i wish they would have done it with the 1980 bronco that became expensive on Ebay Edited March 1 by youpey
Fabrux Posted March 1 So much want! Here's a better picture.
alexis Posted March 1 That buggy is the "Sandman" last seen in the Sandman Combo kit, circa 1979-80. I have two of them. It is a simple snap kit. Not too many pieces. Here is the kit. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/instruction_sheetsh/instruction_sheets/revell-2/revell-mr-sandman-w/?view=roll Wonderful to have it back. I see the Bronco still has the Too Small wheels. 21st Century Bronco, 40 year old Buggy and Trailer!
Tom Geiger Posted March 1 I’d be up for one! I do have the Olson Brothers half cab, and a couple of the buggies but I’ve been into trailers lately.. any idea where it came from or if it’s new? And it’s a very good sign that Revell is doing new kits!

Makes sense, about the only new thing in this offering is the half cab. Wonder if that buggy will have the plastic tires?

I have two of the buggies that I bought together in a box at a show once. I never had the full kit nor the trailer. Trailer looks nice.
laemtao Posted March 1 (edited) This a fantastic upcoming release. Mix in the Baja Bronco lift and beefed up 4x4 parts aka some fireball model work and you’ll have yourself an awesome build. Keep it a pickup to hold gas tanks, extra buggy tires, maybe an extra rack in the back, etc. move that spare bronco tire to the grill for clearance out back. You’ll have a sweet race rig/team car. Excited about this release even if it’s the 3rd of the 1st gen bronco release in a decade. Edited March 1 by laemtao
Classicgas Posted March 2 Going to split the cost with a friend of mine. He wants the buggy and trailer, I want the Bronco.
Mike Chernecki Posted March 2 Looks like they fixed the front fender stripe, the original had a hook on the front pointing upward.
Casey Posted March 2 10 hours ago, mikemodeler said: Wonder if that buggy will have the plastic tires? The original dune buggy's (and trailer's) tires are styrene, so I think we'll see the same this time around. Here's a built up:
alexis Posted March 2 The tires are not bad. (not good either), but not bad. Tread is very shallow. But the DO have backs and are not hollow. I used a set on a Champion Spark-Bug build of Revell's Killer Bee kit.
mikemodeler Posted March 2 Having hundreds of tires I will likely find something to replace them with, not too worried. Thanks for the picture and update Casey.
youpey Posted March 2 Is there a any place in the usa that has a pre-order for this. I really want this bad
Luc Janssens Posted March 2 Odd, that there's no quarterly new release list, wonder who fed the pics to hobby search.
Mr. Metallic Posted March 2 Guess I better finish up my half cab conversion build that I started years ago using the Olsen Bros parts. Very excited to have the set though. wondered if they would ever bring the buggy back.

HLJ has it listed, and so do a handful of Australia stores, I checked one out of the UK and nothing, kind of odd. https://www.hlj.com/1-25-scale-ford-bronco-half-cab-sandman-ii-rev17228 https://www.bnamodelworld.com/model-cars-motorcycles-revell-models-rv-17228-1:24-ford-bronco-half-cab-sandman-ii?zenid=dd0b6489a230c9f55b69914f04320e54 https://www.hobbyco.com.au/1-24-ford-bronco-half-cab-sandman-ii https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/revell-17228-1-24-ford-bronco-half-cab-sandman-ii-plastic-model-kit https://hobbytechtoys.com.au/products/revell-17228-1-24-ford-bronco-half-cab-sandman-ii-plastic-model-kit Edited March 2 by martinfan5

Now wouldn't that be a hoot if this was a Revell Europe release with no USA distribution? 😄
keyser Posted March 3 Not a ton of places in Western Europe to use a serious buggy. They like early Broncos though.
Mr mopar Posted March 3 Revell must be getting ready with a new list of things to bring out for the summer !!
