gks1964
I've been work in partnership with Tim Stevens for about the last 6 months on trying to build a master of this car. Well we think it's done. The 76 Montego went on the back burner for this project. Edited March 14, 2021 by gks1964

gks1964
Got 7 of the 8 molds made and samples cast. Tim did an outstanding job with the rear bumper and valance. Now to do the major mold of the body!

DoctorLarry
I need to build a pot to do that in. Did you vacuum the mold rubber first?

Sledsel
Very cool, one of my favorite stock cars and street car too. Little rivet counting for you, the hood is incorrect. The center has a peak and the scoops are too short and narrow. Edited March 24, 2021 by Sledsel

I'm not a caster, I just may be confused, but I thought rubber was gassed in a vacuum pot, and as you said, resin is pressurized.

Air pressure can also be used to force air out of the rubber. The reason I pressurize the mold while it curing is to force the rubber on to the master to pick the details. The resin is force into the mold with air pressure to also remove air that cause voids in the casting. Hope is understandable.

Repstock
Isn't this a '72? I thought the '73 had the energy absorbing front bumper(?)

yellowsportwagon
To be honest the only sheetmetal forward of the doors that will interchange between 72-73 is the hood. And even then the latch is different. The grille and headlight doors are different too. The 73 frt end was much flatter to match the huge frt bumper.
