Mike Skinner Goodwrench Chevy SuperTruck

Recommended Posts

Tamiya TS-14 Gloss Black and TS-30 Silver Leaf for the body.  MCW 2128 Red for the chassis and interior.

This one is strictly box stock.  The decals are 25 years old and an absolute nightmare.  I tried the silver decals and knew those weren't going to fit the front bumper curves so I ended up painting the silver and creating the red stripes from clear decal film and the leftover MCW paint.  The decals silvered like crazy but I was able to salvage them.

Very nice looking model! I wonder if you clear coated the decals it would've helped? I've done that with old decals and it seems to save them. Anyway, you did a great job with them.

Very nice. Just finished a truck and used some of the these decals for that build and you are exactly right they are a nightmare. Especially the tires on mine. So I will say again, very nice.

Beautiful build! It looks absolutely perfect, so great job on those old decals and paint!  These are some bad as looking trucks and hav definitely inspired my C5R Silverado under whip pickups. Thanks for sharing! If you have an other of those kits I would love to get my hands on one, the only nascar I would love to build!

Very Nice. I have a couple of those truck kits myself. You inspire me to start them. I have some old Slixx decals to put on them. I know that it is going to be tough.
