No reason to do one as the 68/69 trucks would be identical with only paint details on grill to distinguish year. On the other hand, they could have covered all the bases by putting 8 lug wheels on the 4x4 along with their vague rendition of the '68/'69 grill and called it a '68 F250 4x4. I didn't know there was so little difference between 68s and 69s. Makes sense. They should do more 3/4 ton versions.

youpey
oh, how i wish they would make a 78/79 ford f100 or f150 the only one i know if is the amt one and its not very good
mk11
As we all know, 'good' can mean different things to different people. It's true that the box assembly can be difficult depending upon the degree of warpage found in the kit, and the choice of modeling the super camper special wheelbase version makes for a goofy looking truck. However, the amt pattern makers did an excellent job in bringing us a superbly scaled kit with as close to perfect perspective as you're likely to find in 1/25 or any scale, with easily correctible flaws. Unfortunately, the same can not be stated for the newer kits
leafsprings
I sure hope the '68 F 250 comes with 16.5 wheels and 16.5" tires or 16" 2 piece rims and 16" tires. Both with good commercial bias ply highway treads. 3 arm long camper special mirrors in chrome would be a nice option in kit also.
mikemodeler
Found this picture on the Pegasus website today. Looks like they have some different wheels tooled up for this version. http://pegasushobbies.net/catalog/p5200/%232564-1968-Ford-F-250-Custom-Cab-1/25th-scale/product_info.html
mk11
Finally putting those F250 hubcaps where they belong. Never were accurate for the F100s.

I dont see different wheels in the picture, but I think I'll just wait for the ramp truck and buy two!
mikemodeler
If it's a true F-250, then the tires should be 7.50 x 16.5 IIRC. Looking at that picture, they do appear to be new caps and look like the ones on my Dad's 71 F-250 he had back in the 70's. The Ramp Truck looks enticing, might have to splurge and get one.

mk11
True, but there was only one design for the 16" wheel F250 hubcap in '68. Moebius replicated it beautifully in scale. Why would they not use it?

Moebius put a downsized f250 hubcap on a 15 wheel in their earlier F 100 kits. The '68 should have 16" or 16.5 wheels 8 lug wheels and a larger diameter hubcaps to fit a larger rim. If not, they blew it again.

Kinda hard to tell, looks like maybe some 4x4 rims also 🤔 Some new tires would be great Edited July 17, 2021 by Jim H.

Assuming all were going to get is a new grill and leftover wheels, tires and hubcaps from older kits. This is what Fireball package would look like. From left to right. Spicer 60 rear axle, 3 arm camper special mirrors, camper special emblems, 390 emblem, F 250 hubcaps, and 8.75X 16.5 or 9.50x16.5 highway tread tires and 16.5 8 lug wheels.
